About me

I’m currently a second-year Population, Health, and Place Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California (USC).

Most recently, I was an Emerson National Hunger Fellow at the Congressional Hunger Center. Through the fellowship, I was lucky to work with both a local community-based organization and a national think tank, respectively: Just Harvest in Pittsburgh and The Brookings Institution in Washington D.C. Prior to being an Emerson Fellow, I was a research assistant at UCLA and the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.

While in the Population, Health, and Place program, I plan to utilize systems science approaches to advance knowledge on the links between food insecurity, the built environment, and individual behavior. I also plan to incorporate participatory methods into my work as a scholar and advocate.

My current research interests include: sustainable, healthy, and just food systems | health food retail | systems science | community-based participatory research.

Education

In 2021, I graduated with my B.S. in Mathematics of Computation from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Before I became interested in research, I was working toward a career in software development. In undergrad, I interned at Adobe during the summer of my junior year. I also worked on and led a number of student art and programming projects.
